I'm travelling from Zug to Cham on bus route 606.
Do I also have to buy zone 623?
Yes. All zones you travel through must be purchased. If you are travelling on bus route 606, the three zones 610/622/623 must be purchased. If you are travelling from Zug to Cham by train or bus on route 607, you must purchase tickets for zones 610/622.

I live in Steinhausen and would like to buy my monthly travelcard at the ticket machine for zones 610/622/623.
What do I enter?
Change the departure point to one in zone 610 (e.g. Zug) and enter a stop in zone 622 as the destination (e.g. Cham). The ticket machine gives you the choice of "via train" or "via Steinhausen bus" - here you select "via Steinhausen bus". Via Bahn corresponds to zones 610/622. This procedure also applies to single tickets, multiple-journey tickets, day passes and multi-day passes.

Can I use the scheduled boats on Lake Zug and Lake Ägeri with a ticket from the Zug fare network?
No. The boats on the Zug lakes are not included in the Zug fare network. Unless you buy a day ticket for public transport + boat. This ticket gives you free travel for 1 day on the entire Zug fare network as well as on the scheduled boats on Lake Zug and Lake Ägeri. Please note: No sale on the boats and only available in 2nd class. The timetable and offers on the lakes of Zug can be found at www.zugersee-schifffahrt.ch andwww.aegerisee-schifffahrt.ch

Is the bicycle free with the annual travelcard (all zones)?
No. A valid ticket must always be presented for bicycles. You can find more information about bicycle tickets here.

Does my dog also need a ticket?
Yes. The "Reduced ½" fare applies for dogs. Exception: Dogs up to 30cm shoulder height (instep height) may be carried free of charge in baskets or other suitable containers.

Am I allowed to use my multi-journey ticket to travel back during its validity period starting from validation?
Yes. With a single ticket as well as with a multiple-journey ticket, you can travel freely in all directions in the selected zone(s) during the period of validity printed on the ticket.

How long is my single ticket valid for?
1 zone 1 hour
2 zones 1 hour
3 zones 1 hour
4 zones 2 hours
All zones 2 hours

You will also find the validity and the zones purchased on your ticket.

I am travelling from Neuheim to Zug and back. This is three zones. However, the validity of 1 hour is not enough. Do I now have to buy two single tickets?
No. Buy a Day Pass (equivalent to the price of two single tickets). This gives you free travel throughout the day - in other words, you can use the same ticket in the evening to go to the cinema, for example.

I have a single ticket for 2 zones. The shopping trip took longer than planned and the validity period is no longer sufficient for the whole journey home. Do I have to buy a new ticket?
Yes. The ticket is valid until the last scheduled stop that can be reached before the period of validity expires.

I have an annual travelcard for zone 610. Can I take an accompanying person with me on the Zug fare network in the evening after 7 p.m. and at weekends?
No. This rule only applies to the annual travelcard valid for all zones. Holders of the annual travelcard for individual zones as well as monthly travelcards, Z-Passes, modular travelcards, route travelcards or GA travelcards are excluded.

Can I deposit my annual travelcard if I am travelling for a longer period?
No. With the annual travelcard, you travel for 12 months and only pay for 9 months. If you are travelling for longer, you can buy the monthly travelcard.

I have lost my annual travelcard, what should I do?

I have an annual travelcard valid for all zones. Can I buy a connecting ticket to Zurich Airport?
No. You also buy a Z-Pass ticket from the last stop within the area of validity of your travelcard to the desired destination. This means: From the train to Zurich Airport you buy 8 zones; if the train stops in Baar, you have to buy 7 zones.

I have a Z-Pass annual travelcard valid for all zones. Can I also use it to travel on the Zugerberg?

You can go to a staffed point of sale with an official ID. There you will be given a "Forgotten SwissPass" receipt for CHF 5, which authorises you to travel.
If you are unable to produce a SwissPass when checked on the bus or train, you must present your travelcard at a staffed sales point within 10 days using the receipt you have received and pay CHF 5.
We recommend that you store your travelcard in the SBB Mobile app (condition: login with linked customer number available).
