Connecting tickets
Anyone travelling beyond the local area of validity of their travelcard,
will purchase a connecting, zone or point-to-point ticket for the additional journey.
Anyone travelling beyond the local area of validity of their travelcard within the Zug fare network must purchase a connecting ticket for the additional zones. The prices of connecting tickets are identical to those of single tickets and day passes.
Good to know: If you have paid for your Fare Network Zug travelcard and your connecting ticket for a total of 5 zones, you are entitled to free travel throughout the entire area of the Fare Network Zug during the period of validity of the connecting ticket.
For journeys in the direction of Zurich, purchase a Z-Pass ticket from the last scheduled stop within the zones of the Zug fare network.
Exceptions:
- If you are travelling via Knonau or Hausen am Albis, Post and the required TVZG zones are available (zones 624, 633 and, depending on origin, zones 610, 622, 623 etc.), a ZVV ticket may be purchased from Knonau or Hausen am Albis, Post (no Z-Pass ticket required).
- If you are travelling by train via Baar - Horgen Oberdorf/Thalwil and have a Zone 610 (train) travelcard, you may purchase a ticket from Zone 623 (Baar) if the train stops in Baar as scheduled. In this case, zone 610 (train) does not have to be printed on the Z-Pass ticket.
Buy a ticket (either a Passepartout zone ticket or a commuter ticket, depending on your destination) from the last scheduled stop within the zones you have already purchased.
Modular travelcard
A modular travelcard can be used to link route travelcards and network zones. This makes it possible to use local transport networks and local services with departure/destination points outside the network or for cross-network journeys.
