Children's bikes of children under 6 years of age are considered hand luggage and can be transported free of charge. Children under the age of 16 can take their child's bike or slipstream bike with them free of charge, provided the accompanying parents have one of the following travelcards/tickets for the child:

  • Children (6-15.99 years) can take their child or slipstream bike with them free of charge, provided they are accompanied by a person aged 16 or over.
  • Children who have a GA Child or GA Family Child travelcard can take their bike with them free of charge even if they are not accompanied.
  • Children's bicycles of children under 6 years of age are considered hand luggage and can be transported free of charge.

If these conditions are not met, a separate ticket is required for each child's bike.

Unhitchable trailers may always be transported free of charge. This applies regardless of whether the trailers are used to transport children or not. It is also irrelevant whether the trailer is transported together with a bicycle or separately.

As a result of this regulation, the unclear boundaries between pushchairs and child bike trailers and the unclear boundaries between items of luggage (e.g. suitcases) and transport trailers are irrelevant.

It should be noted that the trailers/bikes must not obstruct escape routes/passages.

A bicycle ticket must be purchased for bicycles; this is a "Reduced 1/2" ticket in 2nd class. Please note: For the use of the Zugerberg Trail there is the "Zugerberg Trail" ticket, which includes the transport of the bike on the ZBB as well as the use of the trail and the washing trough. An additional ticket must be purchased for the bike to get to the Zugerberg railway. Self-loading bikes is only permitted on lines 601, 602 and 612 at certain stops:

Line 601: Zug, Bahnhofplatz / Unterägeri, centre / Oberägeri, station
Line 602: Zug, Bahnhofplatz / Menzingen, Dorf / Menzingen, Kreuzegg
Line 612: Zug, Bahnhofplatz / Allenwinden, Dorf / Unterägeri, Zentrum / Oberägeri, Station

If there is a lack of space, the driver will decide whether to take the bus.

The transport companies of the Zug fare network do not accept any liability for damage to bicycles during transport.
