Mountain railway
With Europe's first mountain railway (since 1871), you travel in comfort from Vitznau up into the heart of the impressive mountain world. During the 30-minute ascent on the cogwheel railway to almost 1800 metres, past grazing cows, traditional farms and colourful flower meadows, you can enjoy breathtaking views over the lake landscape.
Centrally located
Time plays a more important role today than ever before. For this reason, a good location is also important. Travelling from Zurich or Zug is quick and easy thanks to the direct connection to Arth-Goldau. You can organise your journey from the valley in a variety of ways: You can either take the cogwheel railway from Goldau or Vitznau to Rigi Kulm or one of the seven aerial cableways that take you up to the Rigi. Whichever means of transport you choose, you will reach your destination in an uncomplicated and exciting way.
Get out of everyday life
Get out of the daily grind and into the Rigi adventure realm. Located in the heart of Central Switzerland, between Lake Lucerne and Lake Zug, Mount Rigi is easily accessible from every direction. Take the mountain railway up into the heart of the imposing mountain world and enjoy the wonderful autumn on the Queen of the Mountains.
On the one hand, there are kilometres of hiking trails and viewpoints that take your breath away with their breathtaking views. On the other hand, unspoilt nature, a variety of restaurants with culinary highlights and relaxing wellness offers for your physical well-being. Those who would like to stay a little longer can simply make themselves comfortable in one of the hotels or guesthouses.
